Who People think you are vs. Who You Really Are

Perceptions. They are kind of like an art: you can see something one way, but others ma y see something else. There is some judgement, and tell ourselves wha we want to see. It is kind of confusing. Who you think you are may not be in accordance to what others see you as. How your family, parents, siblings, and friends see you as are all different perceptions of yourself, but you are still you. For example, you parents may see you as an angel, the perfect son or daughter.
People choose what they want to see, because it is easier to see what they want. You cannot always make them understand who you are, because it is their perception of you. It takes more effort to accept the truth and complexities.
What people see you as can change who you are. For example, you ask some friends to describe with an adjective your personality. With those words they give you, you may try to shape yourself to fit those adjectives, therefore also try shape yourself to fit their perceptions.
Although there are many perceptions, stay true to yourself. Be yourself, and do not worry what other people say about you or perceive you as, because not everyone is going to like you. As long as you are satisfied with who you are and who you understand yourself to be, their opinion is irrelevant.
