There have been many cases of childhood stars growing up to become a disaster.
From Amanda Bynes to Macaulay Culkin. These once childhood sweethearts have
had their childhood stolen from them. But they are not the only ones. Many young
Disney actors revealed the pressures of being a star at such a young age had such a
negative effect on them growing up.
Joe Jonas former Jonas Brother revealed in an interview how Disney Puppet Masters
Control Their Teen Stars. In a summary he talked about the pressures of messing up
and the fears of losing his job.
The Vanessa Hudgeons nude scandal had her in the Disney offices with business
executives talking potential consequences for her actions. Joe Jonas talks about how
he had trouble living intimate relationships as a 20 year old playing a 16- year old
character in his TV show “Jonas.“ He was demanded by Disney to shave his facial
hair to protect his brand and name since Disney markets for the kid demographic.
Jonas also talks about how he had to protect the name of his Disney star girlfriend
Demi Lovato with her drug addiction.
This industry takes a lot out of these young actors. Numerous young stars grow to
become depressed despite the fame. The infamous Miley Cyrus when she was
playing the character Hannah Montana suffered with body image insecurities that
caused her depression. This would later create her bad girl image.
Brittany Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Mitchell Mouso, Amanda Bynes, Miley Cyrus, and
more and more Disney Stars were robbed of their childhood. The media portrays
these once childhood sweethearts as villains. But in the end they are only human. It
is important for Disney Fans to support these actors despite them being different
people outside their characters. This will prolong the success of Disney TV shows,
have Disney actors healthy, and lastly the entertainment that the viewers receive
will be authentic but enjoyable. Never forget, these stars are as human as you.
