It is no secret how the sneaker game culture has expanded its community through time. By having the community lining up for midnight releases, by having the internet going viral due to a sneaker release date, and to the networking caused by flipping shoes. Shoes more specifically known as sneakers have been widely celebrated throughout the years in pop culture. From the early influences of the orginal "Addidas Stan Smith Haillet " shoe in the late 70s, to the Addias superstars worn by Run DMC in the early 80s as well as the first ever Nike Air Force, lastly to the Nike Jordan brand that exploded sneaker's popularity in the early 90s; officially brought kick game culture to its genesis . The culture of kicks have come a long way for owners, investors buyers, and for the fans. In today, almost all athletes and musical artists endorse their own specific kicks with big names like Nike, Addias, Reebok, Puma, Jordan, Etc. This comes with good reasoning considering that sneakers range from $100 to $400 retail ,or even more depending on the model. The rarer the shoe the more expensive the shoe.

With shoes being pricy, the art of flipping kicks has evolved as technology developed. More specifically, when Facebook started, various Facebook groups that wanted to evolve the popularity of kicks decided to make shoe trading pages. These were pages that allowed those all over the internet to sell or trade each other sneakers to Facebook members for cheaper prices. Some shoes would be sold in dead stock condition; never worn sneaker, coming with box and bags, while other shoes could have been sold already worn. The term flipping kicks means to buy shoes for one price, and to later sell them for a larger price. The beauty of flipping kicks is those who participate in this activity make income from this method of business. In Toronto thousands of teenagers would say they participate in flipping Jordan kicks. Major Facebook groups like Toronto Street Wear, Toronto Shoe Game, and Toronto kick game have elevated the shoe game in city. Apps like Kijji , eBay , and letgo have made it accessible for those to flip shoes with one another. Lastly online website like Kicksonfire have a whole collection that many people scroll through 24/7.

With technology being at the palm of our hands, it is so easy to access a conversation with online buyers or to negotiate buying shoes. Flipping has allowed the youth of today to become more independent with how they making or receiving money . It is also a way for one to gain social skills that would help them in their future business fields of education, or to potentially become entrepreneurs. The culture of sneakers has gotten so popular that Complex News host annual episodes of celebrities sneaker shopping and talking about how they use to line up for release dates and how flipping kicks was their was to make money. So go hustle! Research sneakers that appeal to you and find a deal that is convenient for you. Or better yet, flip your way to buying the perfect shoe for you!
