Being a parent is the hardest job in the world. That is why parenting courses should be mandatory in secondary school education. Students will be aware of the serious responsibilities and challenges of parenting more so at a younger age.
A large population of western society is of immigrant decent. With the youth of today’s families predominately traditionalist families, this makes it hard for the youth of today to speak about uncomfortable subjects related to intercourse. With the lack of education of sexual precaution, this could lead to unwanted pregnancies or abortions. With parenting classes, students will learn about the responsibilities of raising a child. They will learn about the basic responsibilities of how to feed your baby, change the baby’s diapers, checking on the baby, etc.
But the lesson that key to teaching the students are having students learns to avoid having a child till fully ready. Every year 7.3 million females become pregnant before turning 18 years of age. With a mandatory class teaching the awkward subjects like how to perform safe sex will decrease the number of teenage pregnancies. Educating men and women about unisex pregnancy pills will also come in handy when avoiding unwanted pregnancies.
At the end of the day, having a child is the biggest responsibility for any parent. One’s life is sacrificed for the care of their child, therefore educating the youth on how it is like to be a parent and how to avoid unwanted pregnancies will help for generations to come.
